Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday and a few days ago my husband says to me "Can you make me a birthday card?"  Now I thought it was for his birthday that is middle of January so I said no problem honey! I have lots of time! He said "No, you only have 2 days" and snickered....The bugger wanted me to make my own birthday card for him to give to me LOLOL. Now I thought at first cheap bugger but then I thought hmmmmm that was really sweet that he likes my cards so much that he wanted to give me my own creation!
So I thought to myself, I could just make a card but thought I would challenge myself and make a mixed media card...my first mixed media project! I think it turned out pretty nice.

My daughter comes home this weekend and is meeting with her close friends to celebrate my daughters 18th Birthday!  WOW where does the time go?  During their lunch or dinner or maybe linner LOL they will also exchange Christmas prezzies!  So Ashley asked me to make some cards for her friends.  I had to make this one for one of her friends Monica because before they went to university they got together and made those mugs you colour up from Michaels and were drinking warm drinks I even think it might have been hot chocolate with marshmallows!

My Baby turns 18 today!

WOW!  18 years ago I had the most beautiful daughter in the world...I can say that because I am her mother ;c)   So I was compelled to make her a birthday card.  I hope she likes it.  I used her University Colours on the card to pair up the next chapter in her life begins with Adulthood!

The Digi that I used was Chels 18 from Simply Betty Stamps!  When I got this stamp although it was made for Chels it resembled my daughter quite a bit!  So I knew when the time came and Ashley celebrated her 18th birthday that I would use this image.  I paired it with the Tim Holtz Crazy Things Stamps for the Party Hat, Balloons and in the inside of the card, the Wrapped Gift.

The Copic's that I used to colour this card are:

Skin:  E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair:  E49, E47, E44, E43
Lips:  R29, R27, R24

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays

The inspiration for this card came from CardsByChristine.  I loved the simpleness of the card and how elegant it was.  I used a stamp that I had from StampinUp (not sure on the title as I have had this set for many years and I took all my stamps off the blocks and put them into DVD Cases for storage limitation LOL).  I think the card turned out pretty good!  Christine is much better tho with just her sentiment LOL.

The Copic Markers that I used for this image are;

Skin - E000, E21, R20
Santa Coat/Hat - R59, R37, R35
Santa Pants - N7, N5, N3, R35

ADU - Night Night - Welcome Little One

This is the cutest image from All Dressed Up called Night Night Little One that I have had for awhile.  My friend asked for a nice card to welcome a little girl into one of her friends home.  A new addition of a child is the best gift anyone can receive!  I remember when my daughter arrived and my life has never changed since.  Her dad bought her a bunny for her crib similar to this one.

The Copic Markers that I used were;

RV10, RV21, RV13
V12, V15, V17

Simone's a Gramma!

A few months ago my girlfriend told me the great news about her son and that he and his new wife were going to have her first grandchild!  I wasn't able to go to their Wedding and felt that it was the least that I could do to make the Baby Shower Invitations!

I new I wanted to do something interactive so that the guests needed to find the details rather than just opening a card.  I hope you like the video showing how the card works.

I simply glued the top, bottom and one side of the backing paper and that left the slit down the left side of the card.  Using a smaller paper printed from the computer will all the details (my girlfriend wanted to write in the details herself rather than have it computer generated) on one side of the card and the map with directions on the flip side.

The end result was fantastic and Simone was delighted with the 28 invitations! LOL

Christmas Cards - Who doesn't love to make them?

Here is the 2nd Xmas Card that I made scrap lifting from Vicky LOL!

So I didn't have the village stamp and had to go out and buy one (card above has the village stamp I could find), but I had to try this technique from watching Vicky's video.  Clearly the village works much better than the large houses below I think.

The changes that I will make on the next card is not to use the embossing paste for the roof tops.  It was so messy and I think too much dimension.  I will use the liquid mask and then maybe some stickles for the snow on the roof top.  I will figure it out when I have some more time to do these again.

I am selling this card (well the new improved one with stickles) as well for $5.00 or 5 for $20.

 Believe in the season!

I was inspired by one of the artists that I follow, Vicky Papaiannou.  She sure does make things look easy!  Well this one really was.  The video (if you haven't seen Vicky's videos yet - I warn you they are highly addictive) I watched showed how to make the actual background as well as how to create the inlay for the wording.  I changed some elements...OK I didn't have the same snow flakes as she did, or the image for this card LOL.  I did partner it up with Santa and had a great die cut from Tim Holtz, I just love the word BELIEVE!  I was lucky enough to find the stamp - Penny Black - Season's Gifts for the sentiment on the inside of the card below.

The actual Santa Images are all from Make it Crafty and they are called, Cheeky Santa, Cheery Santa and Jolly Santa.  I just love the Make It Crafty images...they are so easy to colour because Zoe has all the shading lines on her images!

The Copic Markers that I used for these images are;

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Beard - C00, C1, C3

I also love to have the inside of my card completed as well, so I had that extra paper and used the last Bat as the high light in the top right corner.

Fireflies bring me back to when I was a little girl!  I remember camping and catching fire flies and placing them into a clear jar so that they lit up our table while we played cards under Patio Lanterns (now I am breaking out in the song Patio Lanterns by Kim Mitchell LOL).  Anyhow this image from Scribble Designs is fantastic!  Was so easy to colour and soon as I saw the image I knew instinctively how to create my project.

I also used the extra FireFlies that are freebies and placed them into different sizes to give the appearance they were flying around, some close some far away.

Outlawz - Oct 12 - Melonheadz

So, not sure why the picture looks more beige when it clearly is white LOL.

When I was first asked to participate with the designer Melonheadz, I saw the calendars and thought I GOTTA HAVE THAT!  You every have a GOTTA HAVE THAT item?  This was definitely it for me! Yes I know we all have the smart phones!  But what happens when the smart phones are not enough? You need the at a glance calendar!  This was it for me.  It married the two things I like the most...Crafts and being anal about being organized!

I used the following Copic Markers to colour my November 2015 calendar!

Outlawz-Monday Challenge - October 5th - DeeDees

Hi Everyone,

As I start to slow down after a very busy year, I am blessed to have an image from DeeDee's that I can send to my daughter who is in her first year at University!  We spent the last 4 weekends travelling with her and her softball team from school and I think it would be awesome for her to get some mail of her own don't you think?  The image is the fox from the Digi's Pumpkin Pals.  Fantastic deals at DeeDee's...You get 4 coloured images, 4 outlined images, 4 white filled layering images (which is what I used), 3 sentiments - an essential for the challenge LOL and 3 printable 6x6 digital papers (which I used) all for $3.00 USFunds....FANTASTIC DEAL I tell ya!

Soon as I saw this image I knew I had to make it three dimensional so that the pumpkin looked like it was rounded and that the paws looked like they were coming out of the pumpkin.  I hope the image below shows this effectively.  What cant you do with foam tape?? LOL

I coloured my image as follows;

Fox - W9, W7, W5, W3, W1
Foxes Ears/Nose - RV10, RV21, RV13
Fox Wiskers - Star Dust Stickles
Pumpkin - YR15, YR68, RY27
Pumpkin Stem - E59, E57, E53, E43
Sky - Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Sentiment - Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea Dye

The paper was provided as well from DeeDee's package and printed off very nicely!  I had some matching ribbon that I thought went well for some extra dimension and interest in my card.

Lately I have been dressing the inside of my cards, So to I popped the inside of the card with the matching paper.  I saved you all from the sappy note that I will write to my only child who I am missing terribly LOL.

HighHopes-Julie'sMoment-May1st-NewRelease

So I showed up at the Crop today (well the day I did this card LOL) at One Crazy Stamper and I forgot well a lot of my stuff including the images that I was going to be colouring for the day LOL!  Luckily Lora had my May New Release stamps waiting for me (CRISIS DIVERTED LOL)!  Now it was great because I managed to make cards in advance, not so great because I was already behind and now have to work on the ones I had to do for the next few weeks OMG where do I get the time!

Isn't this the cutest image!  It reminds me of my little girl when she was younger so I decided to make this a card for her to give to her dad for fathers day!  I know he will love it!  The image is called Julie's Moment and can be found for purchase at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

The Copic Markers that I used for this project are;

Skin - E0000, E000, E21, E11, E04, R20
Eyes - E49, E47, Y18, Y15
Lips - R27, R05, R02
Inside Mouth - R20, R21
Hair - E57, E47, E49
Dress/Wing Polka Dots - RV23, RV13, RV14

Happy Birthday Tyrell - JadeDragon

Happy Birthday Tyrell!

This card was ordered just in time for Tyrells 16th birthday!  Tyrell is a basketball guru and mom wanted him to be able celebrate both functions on the same day as his first love (until he gets a girlfriend it is basketball for now LOL).  The image I found on site from Jade Dragon.

The Copic Markers that I used for this project are;

Skin:  E51, E43, E55
Hair:  E34, 35, 47
Eyes:  E79, E49, E55
Uniform: W9, W7, W5, W3, W1 FB2
Basketball:  E79, E47E08
Hoop:  YR04, YR09, R59
Shoes:  RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21

Background

Sky:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Ground:  C9, C7, C5, C3, C1

The paper that I used were from my stash!  I just did not have many manly embellishments so I watched a video on you tube on how to make a basketball net and then attached a die cut circle that I coloured in the basketball lines with a Black Micron (08) marker!  I strongly recommend everyone to learn this technique it can be used for lots of things and in particular for safety issues if ever you need them!  Isn't crafting fun??

Anyhow, thanks for joining me this week for my project!

April 17th - High Hopes Rubber Stamps - Happy Panda

WOW the week came and went!!!  I am so late for my project this week!  Where oh where does the time go?  This week I worked with Happy Panda from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  I had this one chosen because my niece turns 16 this year in a few weeks and her name is Amanda so OF COURSE her nick name is Manda Panda!

The Copic Markers that I used are;

Panda - N9, N7, N5, N3, N1 - E40, E41
Mouth - R20, R22
Bambo - E55, E53, E51
Leaves - YG25, G24, 28

The Sky and ground are the Distress Inks from Tim Holtz!  I am just inspired by a nice cloudy sky and I seem to use this background quite a lot right now!  It saves on copic marker ink too LOL.  The inks that I used for the ground were Tea Dye, then on top the Crushed Olive.  The sky is simply the Tumbled Glass.

The paper that I used for the background I purchased from One Crazy Stamper

I hope you will join me on Friday for another image that I will be sharing with you from High Hopes!

The challenges that I am entering this card into are:
